ICE conducts single adult, family unit removal flights Feb. 9
ICE, working in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, facilitated removal flights, including single adults and family units to Bangladesh, Central America, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico, from Feb. 5 through 9.
Since May 12, 2023 to Feb 7, 2024, DHS has removed or returned over 530,000 individuals, the vast majority of whom crossed the Southwest Border, including more than 88,000 individual family members. The majority of all individuals encountered at the southwest border over the past three years have been removed, returned, or expelled. 🔗 Keep reading

HSI Baltimore investigation leads to guilty plea for 20-year fugitive for conspiring to export defense equipment to Iran
After an investigation by HSI Baltimore, a 48-year-old dual citizen of the United States and the Republic of Taiwan, pleaded guilty to a federal conspiracy charge pertaining to the illegal export of defense materials to Iran, which were embargoed under the Iranian Transactions and Sanctions Regulations. En-Wei Eric Chang, who had evaded justice in the United States for two decades, pleaded guilty Jan. 31 at the U.S. District Court in Baltimore, Maryland. ERO San Francisco arrests 26 noncitizens during nationwide operation
ERO officers apprehended 26 unlawfully present noncitizens with pending charges or convictions for murder, homicide and assault against children during a nationwide law enforcement effort that ran from Jan. 16 to Jan. 28. 🔗 Keep reading
Tampa woman charged with smuggling over $100K into US from Cuba
An HSI Tampa investigation led to an arrest and criminal complaint charging a Tampa woman with smuggling more than $100,000 in U.S. currency into the United States from Cuba. If convicted on all counts, Mirtza Ocana, 38, faces a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison. 🔗 Keep reading
ERO Phoenix arrests 10 in local operation
On Jan. 25, ERO Phoenix concluded a three-day operation in La Paz and Mohave counties. The operation targeted 16 unlawfully present foreign nationals and resulted in 10 arrests. The collaborative effort involved ERO deportation officers from Phoenix, Tucson and Yuma. 🔗 Keep reading
