ICE announces updated policy for body-worn cameras
On Jan. 12, ICE announced updated guidance for its law enforcement personnel, providing standards for the use of body worn cameras. The policy calls for the use of these cameras in nearly all enforcement activities. ICE is working to secure resources required to fully implement the new policy. 🔗 Keep reading

ICE conducts single adult, family unit removal flights Jan. 12
ICE, working in coordination with DHS and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, facilitated removal flights, including single adults and family units to Central America, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, India, Romania and Venezuela, from Jan. 8 through Jan. 12. Since May 12, 2023, DHS has removed or returned over 482,000 individuals, the vast majority of whom crossed the Southwest Border, including more than 81,000 individual family members. 🔗 Keep reading
HSI Baltimore, US attorney’s office celebrate statewide reduction in violent crime in 2023
On Jan. 4, HSI Baltimore joined law enforcement partners, prosecutors and community leaders at a press conference hosted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland. HSI Baltimore’s Special Agent in Charge James C. Harris met with U.S. Attorney Erek L. Barron to recognize the reduction in violent crime and gun crime throughout the city in 2023. 🔗 Keep reading

ERO Washington, D.C. apprehends noncitizen charged with sexual abuse of Virginia minor, producing child sexual abuse material
ERO Washington, D.C. arrested an unlawfully present noncitizen charged with sexually assaulting a Virginia minor and production of child sexual abuse material. Deportation officers from ERO Washington, D.C.’s Mobile Criminal Apprehension Team apprehended the 21-year-old Honduran national on Dec. 4 at his residence in Springfield, Virginia. The noncitizen assaulted a deportation officer during his arrest. 🔗 Keep reading
HSI Charleston investigation leads to guilty plea for West Virginia man for his role in labor trafficking scheme
An investigation conducted by HSI Charleston, the West Virginia State Police and the Parkersburg Police Department resulted in a West Virginia resident pleading guilty to his role in a labor trafficking scheme. Frederick Sayre Anderson, 63, pleaded guilty on Jan. 9 to concealing, harboring and shielding a noncitizen from detection. 🔗 Keep reading
