ICE resumes direct repatriations of Venezuelan nationals
On Oct. 18, the United States, led by DHS in coordination with ICE and CBP, facilitated the first charter flight to Venezuela as part of other routine ICE removal flights conducted throughout the hemisphere and around the world. South Texas official charged with drug trafficking following HSI, federal partner investigation
On Oct.13, HSI Rio Grande Valley and other law enforcement agencies arrested Francisco Javier Alanis, 40, of Weslaco, Texas, for conspiring to distribute controlled substances. Alanis held positions as an assistant city manager in Progreso and was the school board president for the Progreso Independent School District at the time of his arrest.🔗Keep reading
ERO New Orleans places detainer on twice-removed, twice-charged homicide suspect
ERO New Orleans issued an immigration detainer for Kevin Castro Garcia, a twice-removed Honduran citizen who was arrested in Nashville on Oct. 10 for criminal homicide. He was charged with the death and burning of a 37-year-old man, and ERO New Orleans lodged a detainer against him the same day. 🔗Keep reading
