ICE conducts single adult, family unit removal flights Sept. 7
ICE, in coordination with DHS and CBP, facilitated multiple removal flights, including single adults and family units, to Central America as part of dozens of other routine ICE removal flights throughout the hemisphere and around the world. Since May 2023, DHS has removed or returned over 200,000 individuals, including over 17,000 individual family unit members. 🔗Keep reading
HSI, US Border Patrol agents arrest Nicaraguan gang member convicted of murdering his wife
On Aug. 29, HSI and CBP agents arrested Carlos Alberto Sequeira-Thomas, a Nicaraguan national unlawfully present in the United States, for illegally entering the country near an El Paso port of entry. HSI special agents, with the Anti-Gang Task Force, encountered him at a local detention center while collaborating with Border Patrol agents as part of Operation Expanded Impact. 🔗Keep reading
ERO Baltimore apprehends previously removed Salvadoran national convicted of sex crime in Virginia
ERO Baltimore arrested an undocumented noncitizen from El Salvador who had previously been removed from the United States following his conviction for a sex crime in Virginia. Deportation officers from ERO Baltimore’s Fugitive Operations Team apprehended the 48-year-old Salvadoran national on Aug. 23 at his residence in Clinton. 🔗Keep reading
HSI Nogales investigation sends meth importer to prison for 45 months
Following an HSI investigation, Emma Encinas-Obregon, a 34-year-old woman from Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, was sentenced to 45 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for importation of methamphetamine. 🔗Keep reading
