A glimpse into the critical work being performed to combat COVID-19 fraud

As part of Operation Stolen Promise, HSI special agents have opened investigations nationwide, seized millions of dollars in illicit proceeds; made multiple arrests; and shutdown thousands of fraudulent websites. HSI continues to work alongside U.S. Customs and Border Protection to seize shipments of mislabeled, fraudulent, unauthorized or prohibited COVID-19 test kits, treatment kits, homeopathic remedies, and purported anti-viral products and personal protective equipment (PPE). The 287(g) program allows ICE to have a presence at local jails across the country

ICE has begun highlighting the results of its 287(g) partnerships in a monthly online report. The reports detail examples of enforcement actions made as a direct result of the cooperation agreements between state and local law enforcement partners and the federal agency. Read more
