The public is safer when law enforcement agencies can work together
On Thursday, ICE Acting Director Matthew Albence participated in a press briefing at the White House. During his remarks, Acting Director Albence stated, "Our commitment to justice is fundamental. The rule of law is a critical component of our democracy, but a recent ruling handed down by the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California holds ICE to a different standard for lawful cooperation and will hinder our ability to faithfully carry out our Congressionally-mandated mission."

Cesar Diaz-Rodriguez, 30, illegally entered the U.S. at least five times
Deportation officers with ERO Houston arrested a Mexican man on Oct. 8 for illegally reentering the U.S. Cesar Diaz-Rodriguez had previously been removed from the U.S. four times. ICE received anonymous tips through the ICE tipline that Diaz-Rodriguez had threatened to shoot ICE officers. Read more

Sandstone sculpture dates back to 921-945 AD
HSI special agents from San Francisco and New York seized an ancient Cambodian sculpture valued at $350,000 on Sept. 12. Originally purchased by a private collector in California, the statue was discovered for sale at a prominent San Francisco auction house. It will be returned to the Cambodian people at the conclusion of the investigation. Read more

Following an investigation by HSI and others, a Southeast Texas businessman was convicted Oct. 8 of sex trafficking a minor female and related charges. Aquaculture company owner David Wills conspired with another individual to traffic the young girl when she was only 10 year old. Read more
