School Officials – Thank You for a Record Breaking Year of Outreach!

In 2018, SEVP experienced a dynamic increase in stakeholder outreach. The program engaged with 21,636 stakeholders at 389 events, resulting in an 84 percent increase in outreach since 2017.

Below are a few more of SEVP’s notable outreach statistics for 2018:

  • Produced nine webinars, hosting a total of 6,526 live viewers and generating 7,586 recording views.
  • Engaged with 50 new organizations.
  • Presented with or to 41 government partners on 163 occasions:
    • The number of government partners SEVP worked with increased 57 percent, adding 15 new government partners.
    • The number of presentations with or to government partners increased 128 percent, adding 71 additional outreach events.

The Winter 2018 SEVP InFocus Webinar aired on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, during which three SEVP field representatives discussed a variety of important updates, reminders and information for school officials, including:

  • Fall 2018 Unified Agenda items and breaking program news;
  • Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Release 6.41 and the unemployment calculator;
  • Updates from SEVP units, such as SEVIS annual verification;
  • Record keeping best practices and travel reminders for the winter holidays;
  • Statistics showcasing SEVP’s interactions with government partners; and
  • Updated and important resources on Study in the States.
