ICE arrests former Colombian intelligence agent convicted of homicide in Colombia

A former agent of Colombia’s now disbanded intelligence agency, the Administrative Security Department or Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad (DAS), was arrested on immigration violations Oct. 5 by special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations New York office. ICE HSI Rhode Island investigation leads to federal conviction, seizure of $500,000 worth of counterfeit goods

After a recent multiagency intellectual property rights investigation resulted in federal convictions of two Rhode Island men on counterfeit goods trafficking charges and the seizure of more than $500,000 worth of counterfeit goods, special agents from ICE HSI Providence went on to coordinate an extraordinary effort that brought about the donation of half of the seized items to a non-governmental organization for use in humanitarian relief efforts. Full Story

Palm Beach County man pleads guilty to falsely impersonating a federal agent

 A Palm Beach County man pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to falsely impersonating a federal agent during a July cruise to the Bahamas while he was a passenger. The guilty plea resulted from an investigation conducted by ICE Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR), and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Full Story

South Texas stash house operator sentenced to 5 years in federal prison

A Mexican man was sentenced in federal court Wednesday to more than five years in prison following his conviction for conspiracy to transport illegal aliens which resulted in ten deaths.  This case, connected to the deadly tractor trailer case in 2017, was investigated by ICE HSI with assistance from the San Antonio Police Department, San Antonio Fire Department, Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Border Patrol.
