Operation 'Green Mountain' nets 53 arrests for drug, illegal arms trafficking; money laundering

ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents, working jointly with other federal, state and local law enforcement agents, arrested 53 individuals for drug and illegal arms trafficking and money laundering. The arrests were part of an investigation dubbed Operation Green Mountain.

A 20-year-old community college student was arrested at a westside Tucson apartment complex on three felony counts related to illegal drug distribution. ICE HSI special agents and other detectives seized approximately 7,000 Xanax pills with a street value of more than $100,000 USD. Full Story

ICE San Antonio removes Mexican national wanted for multiple homicides

A Mexican man, wanted in his home country for allegedly committing multiple homicides, was turned over to Mexican authorities by deportation officers with ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). Full Story

Los Angeles-area woman sentenced to federal prison in scheme to smuggle restricted space communications technology to China

A Chinese national, who pleaded guilty to participating in a scheme that illegally exported sensitive space communications technology to China, was sentenced to federal prison. The investigation was conducted by ICE HSI and others. Full Story
