Three-month review shows how New York City's failure to honor immigration detainers leads to hundreds of dangerous criminals released

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in New York conducted a three-month review of detainers lodged with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and New York Department of Corrections to determine the type of criminal aliens who have been released from custody without ICE being notified.  Detainers are ICE’s request to a local law enforcement agency to notify ICE when an alien in custody will be released.

A Montana man was sentenced to nearly 42 years in federal prison for producing and receiving child pornography. This case was a cooperative investigation between ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Cascade County Montana Sheriff’s Office. Both agencies are members of the Montana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Full Story

Georgia man indicted for child pornography production, distribution in Atlanta-area sextortion scheme

A Mableton, Georgia, man who allegedly lured more than 100 young girls into sending him sexually explicit photographs and videos via social media, which he then posted online and distributed to their friends and family when the girls subsequently refused his violent demands for additional explicit content, was arraigned on federal charges of producing and distributing child pornography following an investigation by ICE HSI Atlanta. Monmouth County man charged with production of child pornography

A Manalapan, New Jersey, man, Angelo Curato, 26, who was previously employed by a family amusement center in Freehold, New Jersey, was arrested for allegedly convincing children to engage in sexually explicit conduct online. The arrest follows an investigation by ICE HSI. Full Story

Eleven individuals are facing federal drug charges in multiple indictments unsealed May 30 targeting a large, multi-state drug trafficking organization based in Mississippi, following a joint investigation by ICE HSI, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
