Payza and two Canadian brothers accused of operating an unlicensed money service business and money laundering

Two Canadian brothers have been indicted by a federal grand jury in the District of Columbia on charges alleging they operated an Internet-based unlicensed money service business that processed more than $250 million in transactions. The announcement was made today by U.S. Attorney Jessie K. Liu and ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

New portal allows international students to send updates to SEVIS

International students studying in the U.S. must comply with a host of federal regulations to maintain their nonimmigrant status, including notifying their school’s designated school official within 10 days of any changes to their personal or employment information. From there, the student’s designated school official has to enter the information into the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). Full Story

A Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member wanted for violent crimes in El Salvador was removed from the U.S. by deportation officers with ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). Full Story    

ICE, federal and local partners seize 1,441 kilograms of cocaine, arrest one

ICE Homeland Security Investigations, working jointly with CBP Caribbean Air and Marine Branch and the Puerto Rico Police Department, seized 1,441 kilograms of cocaine in Vega Alta. The cocaine has an estimated street value of approximately $29 million. Full Story
