Make Sure You Understand the Upload Evidence Process

Beginning March 8, 2018, SEVP will only accept evidence for the Form I-17, “Petition for Approval of School for Attendance by Nonimmigrant Student,” and correction requests in SEVIS. If you fail to upload the necessary evidence via SEVIS after March 8, SEVP will cancel your school’s request.

Ensure that you understand SEVP’s upload evidence process by bookmarking the Form I-17 evidence guide and exploring the Form I-17 and correction requests upload evidence information on Study in the States.

Share Form I-20 Information with Students

It is important that your F and M students understand that the Form I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status,” is a document they will need throughout the time they study in the United States. Knowing when they need the Form I-20 and keeping the form safe will help them maintain their student status.

Encourage your students to visit the What is the Form I-20? page on Study in the States for other important information about the form.
