Last month, FEMA announced the approval of over $1 billion in funding for Public Assistance, Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and Individual Assistance grants that will empower state-managed recovery and support resilience nationwide.
This cumulative total includes more than $896 million in FEMA funding announced on Oct. 21 and previously highlighted in the Oct. 27 FEMA Bulletin.
With this funding, President Donald J. Trump is keeping his promise to reform federal disaster support and ensure that taxpayer money is spent responsibly on projects and programs that deliver safety and security to the American people.
The funding approved includes over $950 million under FEMA's Public Assistance program, more than $95 million under its Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and more than $11 million through Individual Assistance grants for more than 35,000 households. These awards support repairs to critical infrastructure and public facilities, debris removal, road and bridge repairs, mitigation projects that reduce future disaster risk, and direct services for disaster survivors.
These awards are the latest examples of billions of dollars provided by FEMA to support local communities as they work to rebuild from recent natural disasters.

On Oct. 28, FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of Florida to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by Hurricane Isaias from Oct. 6-12.
The President’s action makes federal funding available to affected individuals in Bay, Escambia, Gulf, Holmes, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton and Washington counties. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-interest loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help individuals and families recover from the effects of the disaster.
Individuals who sustained losses in the designated areas should first file claims with their insurance providers and then apply for assistance by registering online at DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621-3362 or by using the FEMA App. If you use a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, provide FEMA with the number for that service.
Public Assistance federal funding is also available to the state, tribal and eligible local governments and certain nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by Hurricane Isaias in Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Liberty, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Wakulla, Walton and Washington counties.

On Oct. 26, FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of New Mexico to supplement emergency response efforts in the areas affected by severe storms and flooding from Oct. 22 and continuing.
The President's action authorizes FEMA to coordinate all federal disaster relief efforts to alleviate the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency and to provide appropriate assistance to save lives, to protect property, public health and safety and to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe.
The assistance is for Cibola, Rio Arriba, Sandoval and San Juan counties and the Acoma Pueblo, Jicarilla Apache Tribe, Laguna Pueblo, San Ildefonso Pueblo and Zia Pueblo.
Specifically, FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize and provide, at its discretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency. The federal government will provide direct federal assistance for emergency protective measures at 75% federal funding.

FEMA and the Federal Communications Commission Schedule Nationwide 2026 Emergency Alert System Test for November 17
FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission, will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System at approximately 2:20 p.m. ET, Tuesday, Nov. 17. Through this test, FEMA will assess how participating broadcasters and other communications providers receive and relay a national test message to the public.
FEMA is required by law to conduct a nationwide test of the public alert and warning system at least once every three years. These tests evaluate the operational readiness and effectiveness of external Emergency Alert System participants and the infrastructure they use to relay national emergency messages to the public. Emergency Alert System participants include thousands of radio and television broadcasters, cable systems, satellite radio and television providers and wireline video providers.
The test message will state, “This is a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System, issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, covering the United States from 2:20 to 2:50 hours ET. This is only a test. No action is required by the public.” The test message may be delivered as audio, on-screen text or both, depending on the provider. After the test concludes, normal programming will resume.
