Employers—Are You Accepting a Restricted Social Security Card?
Only accept unrestricted Social Security cards as a List C document.
Do not accept an employee’s restricted Social Security card that is stamped with one of the following restrictions:
- “VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION”
- “VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH INS AUTHORIZATION”
- “NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT”
