SUBJ: UPCOMING LIMITED AVAILABILITY TO DIRECT ACCESS FOR
CONTINGENCY PLAN TESTING
1. This ALCOAST announces necessary preparations in advance of the
scheduled period of limited availability to Direct Access. This is
required to complete a Contingency Plan Test (CPT) under our
Authority to Operate (ATO).
2. At 0600 EST, Saturday, 3 OCT 2026, availability to Direct
Access will be limited to only those users performing tasks
associated with 2026 Disaster Recovery operation. Direct Access
will be re-opened to all users at 0600 EST, Monday, 5 OCT 2026.
This limited availability period is necessary to prevent any data
loss during the event.
3. Limited availability to Direct Access impacts all active-duty,
reservists, retirees, annuitants, and civilian supervisors of
military members. Direct Access users will not be able to login.
Users will not be able to submit absence requests, or to process
Orders including Reserve IDT, ADT, etc. Pay or separation
transactions will not be submitted.
4. Separate guidance for commands and SPOs will be provided in an
upcoming ALCGPSC message. Commanders, Commanding Officers,
Officers-in-Charge and Command Senior Enlisted Leaders should
advise all members of the need to complete any required work prior
to 0600 EST, Saturday, 3 OCT 2026.
