BOSTON — U.S. Coast Guard Barque Eagle (WIX 327) will conclude its series of Sail250 port calls this week during Sail Boston. During its port call, Eagle will be open to the public for free public tours at Charlestown Navy Yard’s Pier 1. Sail Boston is part of a national series of maritime events celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States. The cutter's visit offers the public a unique opportunity to step aboard a historic square-rigger and interact with the cadets and crew who represent the future of the Coast Guard.
Coast Guard Academy cadets practice line-handling aboard USCGC Eagle (WIX 327) while moored in Savannah, Georgia, May 11, 2026. The cadets participated in "School of the Ship" training to learn how to safely, accurately and competently manipulate lines as well as become familiarized with seamanship.
