   (IDPL) Promotion Selection, Retention, and Continuation Boards Kickoff
   Announcement
1. This message announces an update to the number of officers authorized for
retention during the PY27 retention boards, in accordance with reference (A).
These updated numbers reflect the anticipated PY26 promotions scheduled for
1 July 2026, following Senate confirmation of the officers' running mates on
the Active Duty Promotion List (ADPL).
2. The retention numbers for the below PY27 Boards, previously announced in
reference (B), are updated as follows:
   a. CAPT Retention Board: The Board shall recommend 16 CAPTs for retention.
   b. CDR Retention Board: The Board shall recommend 76 CDRs for retention.
3. All other information and guidance previously announced in reference (B)
remains in effect.
