SUBJ: SOLICITATION FOR THE 2025 ANNUAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AWARDS
A. Coast Guard Annual Emergency Management Awards Program Guide,
January 2026
1. This ALCOAST solicits submissions for the calendar year 2025
Emergency Management Awards. The Coast Guard's ability to prevent,
prepare for, mitigate, respond to, and recover from crises relies
upon the cohesion and expertise of crisis leaders throughout the
Service. These awards formally recognize excellence in the
Coast Guard's emergency management program, while fostering
innovation and leadership in the execution of program functions.
Nominees are evaluated on a range of qualitative and quantitative
criteria, to include metrics capturing contributions, impact, and
leadership within the emergency management program standards.
2. Per REF (A), the Emergency Manager of the Year Award recognizes
those emergency management practitioners with outstanding
contributions to the field of Coast Guard emergency management and
disaster response.
3. Per REF (A), the Emergency Management Unit of the Year Award
recognizes Operational Units whose exceptional contributions to
the field of Coast Guard emergency management and disaster response
have enhanced the preparedness, readiness, and response capability
of field units to conduct emergency management activities.
4. NEW THIS YEAR, per REF (A), the Emergency Management Response of
the Year Award recognizes a sub-unit that has shown excellence in
responding to an emergency or disaster situation. The recipient of
this award has displayed outstanding, timely, effective response to
an affected area and its citizens or victims.
5. The period of performance is 01 JAN 2025 to 31 DEC 2025. Award
submissions are due to COMDT (CG-OEM) at the e-mail below
NLT 30 APR 2026. Award recipients will be announced via ALCOAST.
