A. Military Assignments and Authorized Absences, COMDTINST 1000.8A
1. The CPOA and CGEA will hold their annual National Convention at
the Westin Houston Medical Center/Museum District, Houston, TX,
from August 24th-27th, 2026.
2. REF (A), Article 2.A.10, authorizes commands to issue permissive
orders for members interested in attending.
3. Official TDY orders and unit funds are not authorized.
4. A strong and engaged CPOA and CGEA are critically important to
our Service. Leadership development is a continuous process that
begins early in a career. Building professional networks and
learning from experienced mentors strengthens leadership abilities
over time. Active engagement in professional forums enhances both
individual growth and organizational effectiveness.
