1. This ALCOAST recognizes the winners of the Fiscal Year 2025 Armed
Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA)/U.S. Naval
Institute (USNI) Copernicus Awards program outlined in REF (A). The
Copernicus Awards were established to recognize individual
contributions to naval warfare in Command, Control, Communications,
Computers, and Intelligence (C4I), Information Systems, Cyber
Operations, and Information Warfare. The members below made
exemplary contributions to the Coast Guard during fiscal year 2025.
2. I am honored to announce the Coast Guard recipients of the fiscal
year 2025 Copernicus Awards:
    a. CDR Thomas E. Hollinberger, USCG, Assistant Commandant & PEO
for C5I (CG-C5I)
    b. ISM3 Alan Lindo, USCG, 1790 Cyber Protection Team
    c. IT1 Cody A. Whitt, USCG, U.S. Coast Guard Cutter KIMBALL
    d. Mr. Joshua D. Smak, USCG, Command, Control, Communication,
Computers, Cyber and Intelligence (C5I) Service Center
3. This DoD-wide recognition is a testament to the tremendous effort
the Coast Guard is making at all levels of the C5I and Information
Warfare communities.
4. The Copernicus Awards will be presented at the Western Conference
and Exposition (WEST 2026) taking place on Tuesday, 10 February
