SUBJ: 2025 K-12 STUDENT ART CONTEST WINNERS
1. The U.S. Coast Guard is pleased to announce the winners of the
2025 K-12 Student Art Contest, co-sponsored by the U.S. Coast Guard
(USCG), the North American Marine Environment Protection Association
(NAMEPA), and the Inter-American Committee on Ports of the
Organization of American States (CIP-OAS).
2. Annually, the USCG, NAMEPA, and CIP-OAS invite students to design
posters on a theme related to protecting the marine environment.
With more than eighty percent (80%) of global trade transported by
sea, the art contest theme for 2025 is the same as the International
Maritime Organization's (IMO) 2025 World Maritime Day theme
"Our Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Opportunity." Art submitted by
students depicted the importance of maritime trade and protecting
the marine environment. The U.S. Coast Guard commends all students
who applied their creativity and entered the contest. The following
