SUBJ: 2025 SECRETARIES' CUP AT FENWAY PARK
1. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy will face the U.S. Merchant
Marine Academy in the 2025 Secretaries' Cup football game at
Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, on Saturday, November
15, 2025. This unprecedented event marks the first time this
storied rivalry will be played in a Major League stadium,
offering a national stage to showcase Coast Guard excellence
and honor our workforce. Boston, the heart of New England and
the birthplace of the Coast Guard, underscores the Service's
roots in the region, from the nation's first lighthouse at
Boston Light (1716) to pioneering lifesaving stations.
2. For over fifty years, this athletic rivalry has
exemplified professionalism, determination, and pride.
Designated the Secretary's Cup in 1981, the name was
pluralized in 2003 when the Coast Guard moved to the
Department of Homeland Security. The cup is now jointly
awarded by the Secretary of Homeland Security and the
Secretary of Transportation. Often considered the "small
college" version of the Army-Navy game, this matchup is the
final game of the regular season for NCAA Division III
football. The event will also highlight Coast Guard missions
and history.
3. The game is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025, at
1200 EST, and can be streamed on ESPN+.

bonds across the Coast Guard. This includes active duty,

friends, and potential recruits. All are welcome to

6. Northeast District commands are encouraged to coordinate
local support (e.g., group transportation, pre-game
gatherings) to increase participation and highlight the
region's strong Coast Guard presence.
