1. This ALCOAST announces the results of the FY2026 Military
Workforce Planning Team (MWPT) deliberations regarding monetary and
non-monetary interventions for active duty and reserve personnel.
Specifically, this ALCOAST authorizes Enlistment Bonuses (EB),
Designated Career Field Bonuses (DCFB), Critical Skills Retention
Bonuses (CSRB), and Aviation Bonuses (AvB), as authorized in
accordance with REF (A). Selective Reenlistment Bonuses (SRB) are
not authorized for FY26.
2. REF (B) renamed the Critical Skill Training Bonus (CSTB) to
Designated Career Field Bonus (DCFB). This change was necessary to
align with language in 37 U.S.C. 331, which authorizes a larger
payment for this type of bonus. The CSTB is authorized under
14 U.S.C. 2319 and has a limit of $20,000. REF (B) updated all
reference to CSTB and 14 U.S.C. 2319 in REF (A) to DCFB and
37 U.S.C. 331.
a. The first sentence of REF (A) Chapter 2.G.2. is updated to
read, "Eligible members must complete and sign a Designated Career
Field Bonus (DCFB) Agreement, Form CG-7220D, within 30 days of
reporting to A-School. Members will receive the DCFB amount in
effect on their A-school convening date." The remainder of the
paragraph is unchanged. This change will be reflected in the next
update of REF (A), within the next year.
3. The interventions outlined in this ALCOAST are in effect for the
duration of FY2026 (1 OCT 2025 through 30 SEP 2026) contingent upon
Congress extending the authority for payments. Any modifications or
discontinuation of authorized interventions will be communicated via
ALCOAST not less than 30 days in advance of the change. These
interventions apply to enlisted active duty members, active duty
officers, and Selected Reserve (SELRES) members. Reservists serving
on extended active duty (EAD) orders are eligible for active duty
monetary interventions (this supersedes Chapter 2.D.1.i. of
REF (A)). EAD members are required to meet all eligibility criteria
that apply to active duty members.
4. FY2026 interventions, including bonus amounts, eligibility,
obligated service requirements, etc., are available on

5. Coast Guard Accessions Service Center (ASC) is authorized to
utilize bonus stacking for eligible applicants. This allows multiple
enlistment bonuses for the same period of service not to exceed the
statutory cap of $75,000 per recruit.
6. Obligated Service:
a. Members with remaining obligated service for Post 9/11 GI
Bill transfer of educational benefits (TEB), service-funded advanced
education (not listed in the bonus eligibility criteria), a previous
bonus agreement, or obligated service that extends beyond
30 SEP 2026 are not eligible for bonuses offered in this ALCOAST.
Waivers will not be granted.
b. Members with remaining obligated service for Blended
Retirement System (BRS) continuation pay are eligible for a bonus.
This obligated service can run concurrently, and bonus payment will
not be prorated. This supersedes Chapter 1.E.22.b. of REF (A).
c. Aviators with remaining obligated service incurred for
previous training or education, including flight school, may be
eligible for a bonus. This pre-existing obligated service must be
within one year of completion as calculated from the members'
eligibility date for the FY26 Bonus. Bonus payments will be
pro-rated based upon the newly obligated service. All other
obligated service policies apply, in accordance with REF (A),
and must comply with guidance in paragraph 6.a and 6.b of this
ALCOAST.
7. Members who previously signed a Reenlistment Contract in
accordance with REF (A) or REF (C) are prohibited from canceling
their existing contract to sign a new contract to meet the
requirements of this ALCOAST.
8. Members who voluntarily short-tour from an assignment for which
a bonus was paid to a position not eligible for a bonus under the
same program will have the unearned portion of the bonus recouped
at a prorated amount.
9. Administration:
a. Current applicable bonus agreement forms will be used.
Submission of outdated forms may be returned, causing a delay in
payment. Bonus agreement forms are located at:

b. The Bonus Agreements effective date is based upon completing
all eligibility requirements and having reported to the assigned
position, not at the time Commanding Officer or Officer-in-Charge
sign the Bonus Agreement.
c. In addition to meeting eligibility criteria specified in the
FY2026 MWPT Intervention Table and REF (A), members must also
maintain physical readiness and medical standards for continuous
retention IAW REF (D).
d. Members who previously signed a CG-7220A for a Guaranteed
"A" School Bonus (GA-EB), at the time of enlistment for the same
rating are ineligible to elect a DCFB, regardless of a change to the
dollar amount.
e. Members with approved retirement or separation orders are
not eligible to receive a bonus.
10. To aid in confirming eligibility, all bonus request submissions
(with the exception of EB's) will include the applicable bonus
eligibility checklist.
11. Enlisted members needing to obligate service for an FY26 CSRB
must sign the extension of enlistment within the current FY, but the
extension does not have to become operative (begin to run) in the
current FY as stated in REF (A) 2.H.3.a.
12. The Coast Guard Pay and Personnel Center (PPC) receives a high
volume of bonus questions and submissions. Customer questions must
be routed through the member's Personnel and Administration (P&A)
Office before engaging PPC. Payments may take between 90 to 120 days
from the date a member's P&A office submits the required
documentation. Refrain from contacting PPC about a bonus until 120
days have elapsed from the submission date.
13. All FY2026 bonus offerings terminate on 30 SEP 2026.
14. For questions, members should review REF (A) and consult their
unit counselors (typically, the Command YN/CMC/SCPO/MCPO) well in
advance of their reenlistment or extension date. For questions that
cannot be answered after exhausting the above resources, the
designated administrative support representative for that specific
unit may contact COMDT (CG-WMM-2) by submitting a ticket using the
