SAN DIEGO — The U.S. Coast Guard Barque Eagle (WIX 327), known as “America’s Tall Ship,” is scheduled to visit San Diego on Friday, Aug. 8, marking its first port call to the city since 2008.
U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle sails off the coast of Washington on July 21, 2025, after departing Victoria, Canada. Eagle’s port call to British Columbia was the first since 2008. The Coast Guard uses the Eagle to train cadets and officer candidates, teaching them practical seamanship skills while indoctrinating them in the Coast Guard’s afloat leadership laboratory. During Eagle’s port call in Victoria, cadets led public tours of the ship and participated in morale events and community service activities with their Canadian counterparts to reinforce international partnerships.
