1. This ALCOAST announces the integration and mandate of all Boat
Forces required currency and mission-specific tasks from REF (A)
into the Electronic Asset Logbook (EAL).
2. As outlined in Part 4, Chapter 3, Section A, Paragraph 4 of
REF (A), unit CO/OICs shall direct unit TO/TPOs to track boat
competencies via the Electronic Asset Logbook (EAL) process. In
the event there is a temporary loss in functionality, CO/OICs will
use the Alternative Currency Tracker Tool until functionality of
EAL is restored. Guidance on the Alternative Currency Tracker Tool
is available on the Office of Boat Forces SharePoint site, linked
below in this ALCOAST.
3. As part of the update, all Area of Responsibility (AOR) points
have been standardized with generic names and codes. While 12 AOR
options will be available to units, utilization of all options is
not mandatory. Commands shall designate the correlating geographical
locations for each generic name within their unit's navigation
standards. Alternative AOR format requests will not be approved.
4. This update is effective on 01 July 2025. Additionally, CO/OICs
will use this tool to accurately track and verify all currency tasks
at the end of the first currency cycle ending 30 Jun 2025.
5. Units will find updated operational codes within EAL,
encompassing semi-annual tasks selectable upon sortie completion.
Units will continue to see previous operational codes in the system
until 30 June 2025.
