SUBJ: A CHANCE TO SHINE: E-INVITATION PROJECT SEEKS DECK PLATE
EXPERTISE
1. The Coast Guard is seeking freelance Deck Plate Developers to
support a focused initiative aimed at modernizing the way
E-Invitations are created and managed across the Service. This is a
fantastic opportunity to leverage your technical skills and directly
impact how the service communicates and connects. By participating,
you'll not only hone your PowerApps abilities but also gain
significant visibility within the Coast Guard PowerApps development
community. Outstanding contributions may earn visibility at higher
levels and could lead to formal recognition for innovation and
commitment to advancing Coast Guard operations.
2. Beyond the E-Invitation project, the Deck Plate Developer Team
is growing into a Service-wide network of problem-solvers using
Low Code Application Platforms (LCAP) including Microsoft PowerApps,
Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint to address a range of
mission and support challenges. We are building a collaborative
space for active-duty, reserve, and GS and/or Wage Grade civilian
members to create meaningful tools that modernize outdated
processes, reduce administrative burden, and improve mission
readiness across the fleet.
3. Members of this team will collaborate on meaningful Coast Guard
projects, including but not limited to the E-Invitation initiative.
Additional opportunities to develop solutions for future enterprise
needs will be available, and depending on the level of effort and
innovation, your work may be highlighted by senior leaders for its
positive impact on the fleet.
4. Team members will receive support from Power Platform mentors
and have opportunities to present their solutions to leadership.
Participation in any Deck Plate initiative is voluntary, must not
interfere with primary responsibilities, and requires prior approval
from the members direct supervisor.
5. The Deck Plate Developer Team is especially looking for
developers skilled in the following: PowerApps canvas and
model-driven apps, SharePoint integration and design, Automated
workflows via Power Automate and Data visualization, and reporting
in Power BI.
6. If you're interested in the E-Invitation effort or to get
involved with the growing Deck Plate Developer community, email
C5ISC-DeckPlateDevs@uscg.mil with the subject line: 'Deck Plate
Developer Interest' and include a short summary of your LCAP
experience and areas of interest.
