Channel Restrictions -
Harborfest Parade of Sail - Inbound
Mariners be advised that the 49th Annual Norfolk Harborfest will include a parade of sail, scheduled to arrive at Town Point Reach on the Elizabeth River in Norfolk, Virginia around noon on June 6, 2025.
Due to the dimensions and maneuverability of the vessels included in the parade, the Captain of the Port Sector Virginia will impose one-way traffic restrictions for the parade's transit from Sewells Point to Town Point Reach, including Norfolk Harbor Reach, Craney Island Reach, Lambert Bend, Pinner Point, and Town Point Reach for up to two hours beginning at 10:30 a.m. and ending at 12:30 p.m. on June 6th, 2025.
The restrictions are to promote a safe transit by preventing a meeting situation between the parade vessels and other vessels whose draft and size require them to transit within the channel. Vessels using or crossing the deepwater channel shall not impede the passage of the parade during its transit. The lead vessel of the parade will be the CGC Sailfish.
Mariners be advised that forecasted weather may affect the sailing times and the progress of the parade Should any of the information in this bulletin change prior to the morning of the event, an updated bulletin will be issued.
