SUBJ: SELECTION PROCESS FOR THE 15TH MASTER CHIEF PETTY OFFICER OF
THE COAST GUARD (MCPOCG)
A. Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) Rating Force Master Chief
(RFMC) and Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL) Program, COMDTINST 1306.1I
1. This ALCOAST announces and prescribes the timeline and procedure
for submission of applications for the next MCPOCG in 2025.
2. The selection process schedule is as follows:
a. 04 JUN 2025 - Application Deadline
b. 06 JUN 2025 - Screening Panel convenes
c. TBD - Finalists interviewed by the prospective Commandant
d. TBD - Commandant announces selection by ALCOAST
3. All eligibility criteria and application requirements are
contained within REF (A) and on the Special Assignments SharePoint

4. Application packages:
a. Completed MCPOCG application packages must be sent
electronically via email attachment to
HQS-SMB-PSC-EPM-2-SpecialAssignments@uscg.mil with
HQS-SMB-CGPSC-EPM-1-Panels@uscg.mil copied. The subject line must
read "MCPOCG APPLICATION."
b. Applicants will receive an email acknowledging receipt.
5. Screening and selection process: CG PSC-EPM will screen all
application packages to ensure the basic eligibility requirements
contained withing REF (A) are met and convene a panel for the
purposes of establishing a list of best-qualified candidates. The
Prospective Commandant will conduct interviews with those best-
qualified, and announce the member chosen as the next MCPOCG
via ALCOAST.
6. All applications must be reviewed and endorsed by the first Flag
officer or SES in the member's chain of command. Endorsers shall
ensure the individuals they recommend are capable of assuming the
responsibilities of the position. In addition, they shall counsel
and encourage all qualified members to apply.
