SUBJ: 2025 ANNUAL ARMED SERVICES YMCA OF THE UNITED STATES ANGELS
OF THE BATTLEFIELD SOLICITATION (AOTB)
1. The Angels of the Battlefield Award, sponsored by the Armed
Services YMCA of the United States, is an annual award that
recognizes one enlisted medical professional from each branch of the
Armed Forces. This year, the AOTB Awards will be held on the morning
of 28 Oct 2025 at the AUSA Conference Center in Arlington, VA, as a
media event. The AOTB Awards breakfast/Ceremony/Reception will start
at 0900 and end at 1300.
2. Each year the Coast Guard nominates one Health Services
Technician (HS), Aviation Survival Technician (AST) or any active
duty member, who directly provided hands-on actions or performs a
direct life-saving intervention that resulted in saving a life, in
paygrades E4 through E7. The nominee must have been on Active Duty
at the time of the recognized event and currently be on active duty
and will remain through November 2025. The event must have occurred
after 1 November 2024.
3. Nominations must be submitted electronically to COMDT (CG-1K22),
Mr. Luis Muniz, no later than 28 May 2025. Nomination packets
received after this date will not be accepted. Application

4. Criteria for the award are as follows:
a. Coast Guard HS, AST or any active duty member who directly
provides hands-on actions or performs a direct, life-saving
intervention that results in saving a life.
b. Exemplifies professional excellence in medical care management
in the line of duty within a clinical setting, Emergency-Search &
Rescue (SAR) mission, or an AMIO-IDHS environment.
5. The CG Chief Medical Officer COMDT (CG-1K), will convene an
awards selection committee, which includes the HS-Rating Force
Master Chief, to review and evaluate each nominee based on the
above criteria and the medical skills implemented in the treatment
of the patient.
