FOR 2024-2025
1. The Coast Guard Foundation sponsored eight $1,000 scholarships
for Academic Year 2024-2025 to help offset the costs of higher
education for enlisted Coast Guard reservists or their dependents.
2. I am pleased to announce the following Coast Guard Foundation
Enlisted Reserve Scholarship selectees for 2024-2025 (in
alphabetical order):
    a. BM3 Victor Delgado, CG Station Houston, Houston, TX. BM3
Delgado is pursuing a Master's Degree in Human Resources & Project
Management at the University of Houston-Downtown.
    b. Ms. Alyssa Derrick, dependent of BM2 Russell Derrick, CG
Station Georgetown, Georgetown, SC. Ms. Derrick is pursuing an
Associate's Degree in Biology at Clemson University.
    c. YN1 Laysha Johnson, Base Elizabeth City, Elizabeth City, NC.
YN2 Johnson is pursuing a Master's Degree in Social Work at Syracuse
University of New York.
    d. BM1 Brian Nelson, CG Station Chicago, Chicago, IL. BM1 Nelson
is pursuing a Graduate's Degree in Business at the University of
Chicago.
    e. BM2 Scott Ralston, CG Station Tybee, Tybee Island, GA. BM2
Ralston is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Sciences at
Georgia Southern University.
    f. SK2 Cherie Schmidt, Sector Mobile, Mobile, AL. SK2 Schmidt is
pursuing an Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene at Concorde Career
College.
    g. BM3 Jack Textor, CG Station Sandy Hook, Highlands, NJ. BM3
Textor is pursuing a Law Degree at Rutgers Law School.
    h. Ms. Aliya Williams, dependent of ME3 Ellis Williams, Port
Security Unit 308, Kiln, MS. Ms. Williams is pursuing a Bachelor's
Degree in Sports Science at the United States Sports Academy.
3. Congratulations to all scholarship recipients.
4. The quality of submissions this year was exceptional. Applicants
not selected for a scholarship are commended for their initiative
and pursuit of higher education. I encourage you to compete again
next year and wish you every success in completing your educational
and career goals.
