SUBJ: COAST GUARD ACCESS TO DISCOUNTED CHILDCARE
PROGRAM
1. This ALCOAST announces that KinderCare Education at Work,
(KCE) now provides Coast Guard members (active duty and civilians)
tuition discounts at participating KCE child care centers,
KinderCare at Work Centers, and before and after school programs
operating under the names KinderCare, Knowledge Beginnings, and
Champions.
2. KCE currently offers a Tuition Benefit Program open to certain
federal employees and military members, including Coast Guard
members and employees, as documented in a recently signed
Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The Tuition Benefit Program
offers a ten percent (10%) discount off the standard weekly or
monthly community tuition rates for full-time or part-time child
care services for any dependent child of USCG personnel, unless
otherwise specified. Employees should verify each location's
participation in the benefit program before enrolling.
3. To be eligible, USCG employees must present proof of employment
such as a pay stub, employee ID, KCE Voucher or, USCG Government ID.
The USCG may confirm or report a change in an employee's eligibility
status with a KCE program.
4. KCE will collect child care fees less the applicable discount
from each employee at the center in accordance with KCE's billing
policies. Retroactive discounts are not included. Tuition discounts
may not be combined, although employees may select the most
favorable available discount. This MOA does not grant Coast Guard
employee's preferential enrollment or waitlist status.
5. Employees receiving USCG Fee Assistance may apply the discount to
the required parent's portion of the cost of care. Employees are
responsible for all other KCE fees that are not included in this MOA
for the KCE Tuition Benefit discount.
