SUBJ: SELECTION OF THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF GOVERNMENTAL AND PUBLIC
AFFAIRS (CG-092D)
1. I am pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Jennifer Plozai as
the Deputy Director of Governmental and Public Affairs.
2. This position provides executive level leadership and oversees
the management of all offices within the Governmental and Public
Affairs Directorate. Ms. Plozai will serve as a key advisor to the
Commandant and Vice Commandant and will provide expert guidance on
engagement with Congress, industry, the public, and other key
stakeholders, and direct external communications efforts of the
Service to advance Coast Guard interests and build trust with the
workforce and American people we serve. Additionally, Ms. Plozai
will bring focus in communicating DHS/USCG's missions and programs
and will contribute to policy development based on external affairs
insights.
3. Ms. Plozai joins the U.S. Coast Guard's Senior Executive Service
after an extensive public affairs career serving the Department of
Justice, Department of Defense, National Science Foundation, and
DHS-TSA. She has served as an adjunct professor at American
University School of Public Affairs and is a 2022 graduate of the
Harvard Senior Executive Fellows Program. Her full biography will be

Executive Service on 28 JUL 2024.
