2. Acceptance Memo: Upon this message posting, all primary candidates selected for their top choice or top remaining choice will receive a program acceptance memo from OPM-1. Primary candidates not selected for their top choice and on an alternate list for a higher choice will be contacted when either their higher choice becomes available or when the higher program has been claimed by the associated primary selectees. If in receipt of an acceptance memo, candidates will have 5 calendar days to accept or decline the position in writing to OPM utilizing the memo templates provided in the official acceptance memo email from OPM-1. Open ended deferrals will not be considered; acceptance of a program constitutes accepting your assignment for AY25 to include required obligated service. Applicants accepting their TAB may still request to screen for command, submit an e-resume, or compete for other assignments. However, this TAB remains their assignment unless OPM-2 determines another assignment is required based on needs of the service.
3. Olmsted and PG/Adv Ed: Those selected for a program on this list and as one of the five finalists for the Olmsted Scholarship will be afforded the opportunity to compete for both. If selected for the Olmsted Scholarship in October, that candidate will be required to abandon the program on this list. If a candidate is not selected for the Olmsted Scholarship in October, the candidate will have already accepted the program on this list and will proceed with comporting to PG/Adv Ed application procedures.
4. Non-Selection for Promotion: In the event a candidate is selected for a PG/Adv Ed opportunity on this message and subsequently non-selected for promotion, the candidate will become disqualified, and the acceptance memo will be rescinded, regardless of the status of the acceptance or ongoing applications to schools.
5. Obligated Service: In accordance with refs (c), (d), and (e), attending a fully funded advanced education program will incur a minimum active-duty obligation of three months for each month of education for the first 12 months and one month for every month thereafter. Service obligation periods commence on the date of graduation, program completion, disenrollment, or the termination of previously incurred obligated service, whichever is later (e.g. CGA obligated service, flight training). Questions regarding obligated service should be directed to the Separations Section of PSC-OPM-1 at 202-795-6432 or HQS-SMB-PSC-OPM-1-Separations@uscg.mil.
