1. PSC-EPM-2 is soliciting for candidates to fill the following Yeoman E-7
position:

YNC 00075891 PATFOR SWA BAHRAIN MANANA
2. This assignment is for one year. Personnel applying for PATFORSWA
should expect high optempo duty in support of a highly visible
support and national defense mission. Selected member for this
opportunity will be required to attend pre-deployment training (PDT),
which lasts approximately five weeks in addition to any required
pipeline training. Report date to PDT will be ASAP. Actual report
dates to Bahrain are set by the PATFORSWA Admin Officer. Successful
completion of this one year assignment will result in an assignment
priority two.
3. This is a dependent restricted, non-isolated PCS assignment
available for men and women. For additional information and
benefits, see our websites listed in paragraph 8.
4. Assignment criteria; Applicants must be:
a. 18 years of age at deployment date.
b. Suitable for overseas assignment per references A and E
c. A United States citizen.
d. Maintain or be eligible for a Secret clearance.
e. Must meet obligated service requirements of 15 months from
report date.
f. Must have completed and passed task 1-01, Physical Fitness
Standards (PT Test), of reference B, within the last 6 months.
g. Must meet Coast Guard weight standards per reference C.
h. Possess a driver's license valid through the entire tour of duty.
i. Able to pass Water Survival Training (Note 1).
j. Previous qualification with a personal defense weapon (PDW) is
also highly encouraged but not required. (Note 2)
k. Possess a Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC)
l. All personnel selected for this duty must possess an Official Red
passport. Members who do not currently possess one shall begin the
application upon receipt of assignment orders. Passport application

Note 1: Member will be required to take part in 3 days of
intensive pool training as part of the Water Survival Training
Program (WSTP) at PDT. Students will be required to take and pass
the PT test in the first week of PDT in order to participate in
WSTP. Upon successful completion of the PT test, students will be
required to meet all tasks outlined in the WSTP Manual per reference
(D). Students should be comfortable in uniform treading water,
swimming, and jumping off an elevated platform. Members are
strongly encouraged to review WSTP requirements per reference (D)
prior to attending PDT.
Note 2: Weapons qualifications are required for all shoreside
and afloat assignments. All E7 and below assignments are designated
as anti-terrorism/force protection (AT/FP) watch standers.
5. Critical Fill Applicants: E7s in receipt of PCS orders may not
apply to this position. E7s desiring to fill the above position who
are not tour complete are eligible to apply and will have priority
over those E6s who apply via A2P. However, these members must receive
a command endorsement addressing backfill requirements. Commands
should be aware that immediate backfills are not available and will
incur a gap at their unit until AY25.
a. Critical fill Applicants should be aware that documented rated
experience and qualifications may take precedence over assignment
priority when making these assignments. Those who meet PATFORSWA
assignment criteria and are not selected are encouraged to keep
apprised of latest message traffic. PSC-EPM-2 will notify selected
members or their commands on a case-by-case basis.
6. Advance to Position (A2P) Phase 1 Applicants: IAW Ref (G), Phase 1
applicants are defined as members who are below the current published
cut line with their stratified list on the current, active advancement
eligibility list.
a. Members applying for A2P solicitation shall notify their
XO or the first E-7 in their chain of command of their
intention to compete for this assignment prior to the eResume
submission deadline listed in paragraph 9.
b. A2P may be used to fill this positions if a candidate meets the
criteria in ref (B). If a qualified E6 is selected, the member will
advance to E7 IAW Ref (B), if all other advancement requirements are
met and the advancement recommendation is maintained.
7. Members in Special Assignments may apply to this position.
However, these members must receive a command endorsement addressing
backfill requirements. Commands should be aware that immediate backfills
for Special Assignments are not available and will incur a gap at their
unit until AY25.
8. As a reminder, candidates should ensure their Official Military
Personnel File (OMPF) is complete and accurate (e.g. CG-4082,
CG-3307s, awards, academic transcripts). Members can view their OMPF
by logging onto iPERMS: htps://iperms.mymilrecord.uscg.mil/login/. If
updates to the OMPF are needed, members can work with their local
Personnel & Admin office. Members are also encouraged to review their
ESS in CGBI.
9. Assignment Procedures: Interested candidates shall complete reference E
requirements for overseas assignment, Boat Crew PT test, and submit one
PCS E-Resume in Direct Access NLT COB 10 MAY 2024.
10. Command endorsement criteria: ALL endorsements shall
address the following:
a. Verify that member meets all assignment criteria in paragraph 3.
b. List member's small arms qualifications and most recent certification
date. Again, endorsing member's ability to pass basic and/or practical
rifle qualification on the M16 or M4 rifle along with passing of the
physical fitness standards in the last 6 months. (Note 1)
c. Summarize previous law enforcement or AT/FP experience and
qualifications.
d. Backfill concerns: When addressing backfills for members, commands
should keep in mind that receiving an immediate backfill
is not always possible. The commands backfill request
will factor into the candidate selection process. Additional guidelines
for command endorsements can be found on our Sharepoint.
Note 1: For members whose weapons qualifications meet the minimum
criteria, but have lapsed, basic and practical qualification courses
on rifle (among other weapons) systems will be administered at PDT.
11. Training, Entitlements, FAQs: All personnel selected for this
duty will be required to complete PDT and applicable pipeline training.

Members are reminded that dependents can be relocated to
a geographical area of choosing for the duration of the tour.
