SUBJ: SOLICITATION FOR 2024 DHS VETERANS DAY CEREMONY PROJECT
OFFICERS
1. This ALCOAST announces the solicitation for Project Officers
in support of the 2024 Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
Veterans Day Ceremony.
2. The DHS Veterans Day Ceremony has been a DHS tradition and
an integral part of recognizing our veterans' workforce since
being established in 2011. DHS has held an in-person commemoration
event every year with the exception of 2021 and 2022 due to
COVID-19. The Ceremony recognizes veterans' employees for their
service, past and present, and celebrates the Department's success
in employing veterans' employees.
3. The annual DHS Veterans Day Ceremony rotates amongst the DHS
components. This model helps foster fresh ideas and inclusivity and
promotes a unified effort across DHS. In November 2024, the U.S.
Coast Guard has the privilege of hosting the 2024 DHS Veterans Day
Ceremony with both in-person and virtual attendance options.
4. Application Instructions.
    a. Project Officers may be CG Active Duty, Reserve, Civilian,
Auxiliary, or Retirees.
    b. Applications from members located in the Washington, DC area
may be given priority due to funding considerations.
    c. An email, or CG memorandum sent via email, requesting to serve
as a Project Officer with the applicant's background, resume, or
biography is required.
    d. For non-retiree applicants, an email or memorandum endorsement
from a supervisor is also required.

6. Dr. D. M. Navarro, Executive Director for Personnel Readiness
(DCMS-DPR-XD) and Senior Advisor for Diversity and Inclusion
