SUBJ: LAUNCH OF SOCIUM INTERFACE FOR TRACKING INTERNATIONAL
ENGAGEMENTS
1. This ALCOAST announces the lauch of the USCG SOCIUM interface for
tracking international engagements. SOCIUM is the USCG's centralized
repository for tracking U.S. international engagement activities in
one streamlined, intuitive interface. SOCIUM is a DOD enterprise-
wide, cloud-based activity and workflow management tool that
facilitates and integrates the planning, budgeting, collaboration,
program design, assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting in
support of all U.S. international engagement activities.
COMDT (CG-DCO-I) has worked with the Defense Security Cooperation
Agency (DSCA) to develop a USCG-specific workflow within SOCIUM.
SOCIUM is available on NIPR and SIPR.
2. SOCIUM's Initial Operating Capability will go live for USCG use
on 02 OCT 2023. From 02 OCT 2023 to 30 NOV 2023, SOCIUM managers
will update SOCIUM training guides; develop USCG SOCIUM Training
Modules; initialize new accounts for USCG users at all levels who
conduct international engagements; convene SOCIUM training sessions
for new USCG users; promulgate guidance of NIPR/SIPR requirements
for USCG activities in SOCIUM, and issue COMDT Instruction for
SOCIUM use. As completed, this information will be made available
both on SharePoint and Teams.
3. SOCIUM's Full Operating Capability will go live on 05 DEC 2023.
On this date, all international engagement activities as outlined
in the forthcoming USCG SOCIUM Training Guide are required to be
tracked in SOCIUM.
4. Two SOCIUM Managers each have been established at USCG HQ,
LANTAREA, and PACAREA for a total of six SOCIUM Managers:
    a. LANTAREA:

5. SOCIUM Managers are the primary POCs between HQ/LANTAREA/PACAREA
SOCIUM USCG users and the DSCA Service Desk to establish accounts,
update, deactivate and troubleshoot any issues with their accounts.
They provide training to HQ/LANTREA/PACAREA USCG Activity Planners
and Analysts on the use of SOCIUM. They are the primary POC at the
HQ/LANTAREA/PACAREA level for requests for information for USCG
users. The Headquarters POCs will also serve as the liaison to DSCA
for the design and function of the USCG specific workflow in SOCIUM.
