1. REF (A) announced the approval and creation of the Intelligence
Professional Insignia (IPI).
2. This ALCOAST announces the official promulgation of the IPI.
3. The Coast Guard Intelligence Community (CGIC) directly supports
all 11 of the Coast Guard's statutory missions. The IPI affirms the
proficiency of our Active Duty, Reserve, and Civilian Intelligence
workforce. It recognizes those who demonstrate mastery of the
knowledge, skills, and abilities required of Intelligence
professionals. It also provides parity and improves interoperability
with the Department of Defense while demonstrating the maturation of
CG Intelligence since joining the Intelligence Community in 2001.
4. Members who currently hold the Intelligence CORE (INTCORE)
competency at the Apprentice level and have a current Intelligence
Fundamentals Professional Certification (IFPC) are authorized
temporary entitlement of the IPI.
5. Members who currently hold the INTCORE competency at the Master
level and have a current IFPC are authorized permanent entitlement
of the IPI.
6. Further details regarding the policy and procedures for the IPI
are outlined in REF (B).
7. For permanent entitlement, the unit's Servicing Personnel Office
(SPO) must record receipt of the insignia in Direct Access under
"Honors and Awards" using the code "CGIPI," and in the member's
OMPF. For temporary entitlement, an Administrative Remarks, Form
CG-3307 can be downloaded from the IPI SharePoint Site:

8. Per established policy, the insignia design was favorably
processed by the Uniform Board and received final approval from PSC.
COMDT (CG-21) and PSC-PSD-mu will continue to coordinate with the
commercial vendor to finalize the physical insignia production
timeline. Renderings of the insignia design are available on the
IPI SharePoint Site.
