SUBJ: POLICY CHANGE TO THE COAST GUARD HOUSING MANUAL
A. Coast Guard Housing Manual, COMDTINST M11101.13G
1. This ALCOAST modifies the Leased Housing Eligibility Matrix,
Table 5-1, contained in REF (A), to help address family housing
challenges and reduce field level administrative paperwork
associated with requesting a policy waiver.
2. Effective immediately, Table 5-1 is modified to remove leased
housing eligibility restrictions for accompanied members.
Accompanied members will now be eligible for leased housing,
regardless of paygrade, when the cost of adequate private
sector rental housing (as determined by the Local or Area Housing
Officer) exceeds the members Total Housing Allowance, as defined
in REF (A).
3. The Coast Guard Leased Housing Matrix, Table 5-1, for
unaccompanied members remains unchanged.
4. All other leased housing provisions contained in the Coast Guard
Housing Manual remain in effect, including leased housing bedroom
eligibility, Table 5-2, and the priority of properties leased
(apartments, condominiums, townhouses, duplexes, etc.).
5. These changes will be incorporated in the next update to REF (A),
which will be released within the next year.
6. This message will be cancelled on 04 JUL 2024.
