SUBJ: AY23 MASTER CHIEF ADVANCEMENT PANEL SUPPORT POSITION SOLICITATION
A. Military Assignments and Authorized Absences, COMDTINST M1000.8A
1. All members are highly encouraged to pursue at least one Special
Assignment (SA) during their career. These career broadening
assignments provide members valuable opportunities to represent
their ratings, network, and learn about other operational and
mission support activities. Furthermore, serving in a SA increases
your selection potential for future highly visible leadership and
management positions (e.g. Silver Badge, OIC, and School Chief).
2. CG PSC-EPM-2 is soliciting candidates for the following position:

POCM 00019727 PSC EPM-1 WASHINGTON, DC
3. This message solicits candidates and outlines the application
process for MCPOs interested in a Special Duty Assignment as the
Master Chief Advancement Panel (MCAP) Support Position in
Washington, DC within the Personnel Service Center (PSC) EPM-1
Enlisted Boards and Panels Section. Selectee will manage the MCAP
process in its entirety, from coordinating eligibility lists with
the Pay and Personnel Center (PPC) to ensuring the timely
promulgation of the MCAP Report and results message once complete.
Additionally, this member will also augment all other boards and
panels convened by EPM-1.
4. Eligibility:
a. Tour complete in AY23 or AY24.
b. All active duty E9 and E8 (above the cut for E9) before the end
of the solicitation period.
c. Meets the requirements listed in reference (A), CH 1.E.2.a.
5. Application: Applicants shall submit an e-Resume in Direct Access
for position 00019727 NLT 28 April 2023 to include:
a. CO Endorsement addressing member's potential to serve on EPM-1
Boards and Panels; including items such as communication skills,
confidence, and general interaction when speaking to large and
small groups.
b. Member's comments detailing any special skillsets that would
benefit EPM-1.
6. Selectee will be notified SEPCOR with PCS orders to report
NLT 01 September 23 to PSC-EPM-1, Washington, DC.
a. This is a one-year assignment with the potential to be a 2-4
year tour.
7. The Special Assignments Officer will coordinate the release
from rating process. Applicants should not contact their Assignment
Officer asking if they can be released from rate.
