1. Per the solicitation announced in REF (A), I am pleased to
announce the recipients of the 2022 CDR Jim Simpson and Chief
Journalist (JOC) Alex Haley Public Affairs Awards. These awards are
designed to encourage and formally recognize Coast Guard wide
participation in conducting our important public affairs mission.
2. A selection panel convened to review five submission packages for
the CDR Jim Simpson Award - Group A: Public Affairs Offices. The
following units are the recipients of the Coast Guard Public Affairs
Office of the Year award.
    a. 1ST PLACE: Eighth Coast Guard District
        2ND PLACE: First Coast Guard District
        3RD PLACE: Seventh Coast Guard District
3. A selection panel convened to review 22 submission
packages for the CDR Jim Simpson Award - Group B: Coast Guard Units.
The following units are the recipients of awards in the listed
categories.
