1. Congratulations to Mr. Peter Gray, the 2021 recipient of the
Swaringen Award for outstanding mentorship in Human Performance
Technology (HPT). This prestigious award recognizes exemplary
individual achievement in the selfless development of others in the
application of HPT.
2. Mr. Gray demonstrates the spirit of this award through his
personal commitment to the professional development and success of
others, and as an unrivaled emissary for the tenets of HPT's
principles, practices, and methodologies. Mr. Gray is the epitome
of a selfless leader who is always available to provide guidance
and mentorship. As the Training Consultant for Training Center
Petaluma, he fills a vital role in the professional development of
all members on base. He has a reputation of being selfless, caring,
and serving as a stellar mentor for junior and senior members.
Mr. Gray's personality and communication style are ideal for being
an effective mentor. His calm demeanor and ease at which he can
relate to members of any rank has facilitated the large impact he
has been able to make on members at Training Center Petaluma.
Mr. Gray's discipline in his craft, commitment to the growth of
others, and total dedication to Human Performance Technology across
the training enterprise is truly inspirational.
3. Congratulations to all nominees for their outstanding
contributions within their respective work environments. Award
