1. OVERVIEW. This ACN announces a pilot program, effective release
date and terminating on 31 DEC 2022, to test the utility and
effectiveness of available online resources for the purpose of
obtaining professional IAT/IAM certifications. This is in direct
support and commitment to Department of Defense and Coast Guard
required certifications for system administrators, REFs (A) and (B),
and outlined in REF (C).
2. ELIGIBILITY. In addition to all normal permissive orders
requirements IAW REF (D), all personnel must be accepted into the
pilot program by the Information Technology Reserve Force Master
Chief (IT RFMC) and meet COMDT (CG-791) or Coast Guard Credentialing
Opportunities Online (CGCOOL) voucher/reimbursement requirements.
3. POLICY/PROCEDURE. This program provides a temporary path to
obtain the certifications covered in REF (E), section 7(e).
a. Commands are authorized to provide up to fifteen (15) days
permissive orders for the study phase of this program.
b. Commands are authorized to provide one (01) day for
certification testing and up to eight (08) days permissive orders
if virtual bootcamp or live-event training is available for the
certification testing phase of this program.
4. All commands are encouraged to allow full participation in this
program and to supplement with unit funds, to include instructor-led
training, as warranted.
