SUBJ: SELECTION PROCESS FOR THE MASTER CHIEF PETTY OFFICER OF THE
COAST GUARD (MCPOCG) AND MASTER CHIEF PETTY OFFICER OF THE COAST
GUARD RESERVE (MCPO-CGR)

1. Through normal rotation, the MCPOCG and MCPO-CGR positions
will be open in 2022. To provide for a timely relief and smooth
transition this ALCOAST announces and prescribes the timeline
and procedure for submission of applications for the next MCPOCG
and MCPO-CGR.
2. The selection process schedule is as follows:
a. 12 NOV 2021 - Application deadline
b. 07-10 DEC 2021 - Screening Panel convenes
c. TBD - Finalists interviewed by the prospective Commandant
d. TBD - Commandant announces selection by ALCOAST
3. All eligibility criteria and application requirements are
contained within REF (A) and Program Information Sheet located at:

4. Application packages:
a. Completed MCPOCG application packages must be sent
electronically via email attachment to CWO Jaime Baldueza at:
Jaime.M.Baldueza@uscg.mil. The subject line must read
"MCPOCG APPLICATION."
b. Completed MCPO-CGR application packages must be sent
electronically via email attachment to YNCM Angelica Ingham at:
Angelica.L.Ingham@uscg.mil. The subject line must read
"MCPO-CGR APPLICATION."
c. Applicants will receive an email acknowledging receipt.
5. Screening and selection process: CG PSC will screen application
packages to ensure basic eligibility and convene a panel for the
purposes of establishing a list of best-qualified candidates.
The Prospective Commandant will interview best-qualified candidates
and announce the chosen member as the next MCPOCG and MCPO-CGR
through ALCOAST.
6. All applications must be reviewed and endorsed by the first flag
officer or SES in the chain of command. Endorsers shall ensure the
individuals they recommend are capable of assuming the
responsibilities of the position. In addition, they shall counsel
and encourage all qualified members to apply.
