1. All members are highly encouraged to pursue at least one Special
Assignment during their career. These career broadening assignments
provide members valuable opportunities to represent their ratings,
network, and learn about other operational and mission support activities,
making them ideal candidates for future assignments to highly visible
leadership and management positions (e.g. Silver Badge, OIC, School Chief).
2. PSC-EPM-2 is soliciting for the following Special Assignment positions:

3. Eligibility:
a. Tour complete in AY22 or AY23.
b. Must be at the paygrade of the position applying for (or above the cut
of the position applying for) prior to the application deadline.
c. Meet the requirements listed in reference (A), CH 1.E.2 for all Special
Assignment positions.
d. Meet additional requirements listed in reference (A), CH 1.E.6 for
instructor specific positions.
4. Process/timeline:
a. NLT 20 AUG 2021: Standard applications are emailed to EPM-2 at
HQS-SMB-PSC-EPM-2-SpecialAssignments@uscg.mil.
b. OOA 21 AUG - 10 SEP 2021: Programs may interview applicants.
c. OOA 20 SEP 2021: Selection results are released via email.
d. The expected report date is 01 JUL 2022.
5. The Special Assignments Officer will coordinate the release from rating
process. Applicants should not contact their Assignment Officer asking if
they can be released from rate.
