Lake Barkley Grounding Unified Command to hold media briefing

WHO: Lake Barkley Grounding Unified Command, which includes the Coast Guard, Trigg County Emergency Management and representatives from the state of Kentucky, and American Cruise Lines.

WHAT: Media availability opportunity to tour the unified command incident command post and conduct one-on-one interviews.

CADIZ, Ky. — The Lake Barkley Grounding Unified Command is coordinating Saturday to establish salvage plans to free the American Jazz cruise ship in Cadiz.

The unified command is in the planning process of safely and efficiently returning the American Jazz cruise ship to normal operations while taking precautions to mitigate any environmental impact.

The 3-mile safety zone from mile marker 61 to 64 is still in place to ensure the safety of response crews and the public.
