SUBJ: MORALE, WELL-BEING, AND RECREATION (MWR) AWARDS

A. ALCGPSC 067/20, MORALE, WELL-BEING, AND RECREATION (MWR) AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

1. The International Military Community Executives Association (IMCEA) has announced its national annual MWR award winners as first solicited in Ref A.

2. CWO4 (F&S) Chris Hedrick, D8 MWR Regional Director, USCG Base New Orleans, is the Coast Guard Irving Rubenstein Memorial Award winner for 2020. CWO Hedrick is the D8 Regional MWR cognizant authority responsible for one of the largest MWR Districts in the Coast Guard. He provides MWR program oversight and enforces regulations for 100+ commands to include financial oversight of $504K Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) and is subject matter expert for MWR use-of-funds. He currently is MWR cognizant authority for 36 custodial accounts. He reviews all quarterly reports, annual budgets, and annual audit submissions for the D8 region. CWO Hedrick's leadership, hard work, and dedication made significant contributions to the readiness, resiliency, and retention of the Coast Guard family.

3. Ms. Amanda M. Pozzi, Youth Center Director, Internship Coordinator, and MWR Lodging Manager, USCG TRACEN Petaluma, is the Frederick J. McKenney Lifetime Spirit Award winner for 2020. Ms. Pozzi takes pride in her accomplishments in support of the Coast Guard MWR programs at TRACEN Petaluma while managing multiple responsibilities such as Youth Service Director, Internship Coordinator and was temporarily reassigned as the MWR Guest Lodging Manager for 90 days due to departure of the manager. As the Youth Center Director, she served as the Youth/Teen representative on the Morale Committee and the TRACEN Neighborhood Advisory Board. She enthusiastically provided members with youth center programs and events as she worked closely with our partner, the Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA). Her leadership, hard work, and dedication made significant contributions to the readiness, resiliency, and retention of the Coast Guard family.

4. The IMCEA awards will be sent directly to the commands for local presentation.
