1. Event. The Military Operations Research Society (MORS)
and the Marine Corps University (MCU) are co-hosting the
2021 MORS Symposium at the MCU located in Quantico, VA from
21-24 June 2021. This year's theme is Analytics to Enhance
Decision Making. More information can be found here:

2. Purpose. The 89th MORS Symposium will include hundreds
of presentations across 35 Working Groups and numerous
Distributed Working Groups, Special Sessions, Demonstrations,
Tutorials, and Continuing Education Unit Courses over the
four-day program. Over the last five years, members from
the Coast Guard Operations Research and Data Analytics
community have been invited to present nearly 41 papers
on topics including Boat Station mission relevance,
forecasting techniques and visualization with Python,
Neural networks and artificial intelligence, unstructured
data analytics, and applying systems thinking and system
dynamics modeling to improve understanding of service.
This year's sessions will consist of classified and
unclassified presentations. Conference Attendance Information.
    a. COMDT (CG-771) is coordinating the Conference Attendance
Request approval process and requires pertinent information
from the attending member listed in paragraph 3.
    b. Attendance, travel, and conference fees will be at unit
discretion and expense. If funding is not available, permissive
orders are authorized IAW CH 2.A.10. of REF (B). Attendees are
responsible for making their own registration, travel, and
lodging accommodations.
    c. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MORS leadership will decide
no later that 1 March 2021 regarding the viability of a full
in-person symposium. If a full in-person Symposium is not viable,
it will be moved to a virtual platform, and the fees will be
reduced by 25%.
    d. Early registration conference fee is $360 for MORS members
and $460 for non-members. Regular registration fee is $560
and $660 respectively.
    e. Key Dates.
        1) 1 November 2020 - Early Registration opened.
        2) 16 February 2021 - Deadline for abstract submission.
        3) 1 March 2021 - MORS Leadership decides on viability
of full in person symposium
        4) 9 April 2021 - Early Registration ends.
        5) 25 May - Regular Registration ends.
3. Member’s responsibility. In order to attend the conference,
member is responsible for providing the following requirements
to the POC in Paragraph 6:
    a. Submit approved TDY Travel Request Worksheet, Form (CG-2070)
via email NLT 12 February 2021.
    b. Provide immediate email notification if cancelling attendance.
    c. After attending event, submit the Travel Voucher Summary
(from TPAX) via email.
4. Uniform. Tropical Blue for military members.
