ALCGOFF 195/20
SUBJ: OFF-SEASON CDR AND LT SOLICITATION - OFFICER RECRUITING CORPS
INITIATIVE
1. Nearly half of the officer corps is recruited and accessed from
efforts solely embedded in Coast Guard Recruiting Command (CGRC)
initiatives. Our current recruiting infrastructure, which is
primarily focused on the enlisted workforce, manages the
applications and selection of nearly 250 high quality officers
per year. Officer recruiting is a talent management responsibility
the Service takes seriously. This solicitation is an inaugural event
to establish an official officer recruiting workforce with the
responsibility of transforming our officer recruiting posture from
passive to active. CGRC is in need of highly motivated officers to
fulfill several key positions to advance this initiative and
immediately begin officer recruiting in various geographic
locations. Two-year orders will be part of this special assignment.
Due to the timing of this solicitation, this opportunity is open to
ADPL, reserve, or retired officers who may consider recall.
