SUBJ: COAST GUARD FOUNDATION ENLISTED RESERVE SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS FOR 2019-2020
1. The Coast Guard Foundation sponsored eight $1,000 scholarships for Academic
Year 2019 - 2020 to help offset the costs of higher education for enlisted
Coast Guard reservists or their dependents.
2. I am pleased to announce the following Coast Guard Foundation Enlisted
Reserve Scholarship winners for 2019-2020 (in alphabetical order):
    a. MK3 Dylan Beirold, Station Golden Gate, Sausalito, CA. MK3 Beirold is
pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation at California State
University Maritime Academy.
    b. Mr. Andrew Boyle, son of MKC William Boyle, Sector Hampton Roads,
Portsmouth, VA. Mr. Boyle is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical
Engineering at Christopher Newport University.
    c. Mr. Scotty Davis, spouse of PA2 Lara Davis, First District, Boston, MA.
Mr. Davis is pursuing an ABYC Marine Electrical Certification, NMEA Marine
Electronics Installer, and NMEA 2000 Network Certification from the American
Boat Yacht Council (ABYC) and National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA).
    d. MST2 Kyrion Gray, Sector Puget Sound, Seattle, WA. MST2 Gray is pursuing
a Master of Science in Environmental Science at Loyola Marymount University.
    e. HS1 Kimberly Hoefer, Port Security Unit 307, Clearwater, FL. HS1 Hoefer
is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of South Florida.
    f. SK1 Philip Kiley, Port Security Unit 301, Cape Cod, MA. SK1 Kiley is
pursuing a Master of Arts in Homeland Security at the American Military
University.
    g. YN3 Keith Lewis, Sector Los Angeles/Long Beach, San Pedro, CA. YN3 Lewis
is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management and an
Undergraduate Certificate in Project Management at the University of Maryland
University College.
    h. BM1 Ian Yaffe, Station South Portland, South Portland, ME. BM1 Yaffe is
pursuing a Master of Public Administration at the University of Washington.
3. Congratulations to all scholarship recipients.
4. The quality of submissions this year was extremely high. Applicants not
selected for a scholarship are commended for their initiative and pursuit of
higher education. I encourage you to compete again next year and wish you every
success in completing your educational and career goals.
