Media Advisory: World War II era Coast Guard veteran celebrates her 100th birthday

- Who: Lois Bouton, a World War II era Coast Guard veteran and member of the U.S. Coast Guard Women’s Reserve, also known as the “SPARS”
- What: Friends, family and Coast Guard personnel throughout the U.S. will honor Bouton as she celebrates her 100th birthday, with special recognition presentations from local, state and federal officials
- When: 1 p.m. to 5p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019. Cake cutting and presentations will begin at 3:00pm.
- Where: First Presbyterian Church, 901 NE J Street, Bentonville, AR 72712
NEW ORLEANS — Bouton is affectionately known as “The Coast Guard Lady,” and has been featured in numerous magazines and newspapers around the country for having written more than 100,000 cards and letters to Coast Guard personnel since 1970.
